Sorn off the road

What is classed as off the road? mine is in my private drive at the side of my house but I was told by someone today that may not be included as being off road as far as I'm concerned my drive is off the road

Why the fuss? The answer is simply that for SORN the vehicle must not be on the public highway or public land. If your drive is solely your property and not shared with anyone else (see property deeds) then SORN is OK provided you never drive it. I it needs repair (usual reason for SORN) I THINK you would have to hire a car-carrier to take it to repairer. If you want to drive it to repairer, withdraw SORN, if taxed,insured and MOT. Why claim SORN, anyway unless it is a large % of your tax. Making life difficult for yourself maybe?
