What was that kids TV program called...something to do with a phoenix and a magic carpet?It's been bugging me all evening!

If it was a fantasy cartoon in the 80's, it's called, 'Cities of Gold'. There was a white boy with a little coloured friend who looked like one of the ancient Inca tribe and they used to fly about on a huge Phoenix, which only rose when the chums were in danger. Sad thing is, I still have the theme tune, which I taped when I was a kid!!!
