ABers, Please don't keep me in the dark if you feel it is worthwhile your commenting on this afternoon's e/mail, to which I am awaiting a reply from Sainsbury.:-
Dear Sir/Madam,
Last Saturday my wife and I visited, as is usual, your Swansea store for our weekly shopping of food and wine.
Upon entering the Supermarket we thought that there had been an electricity failure and emergency lighting was operating. However, it transpired that, during the past week, energy saving fluorescent tubes had been inserted into the light fittings.
It is the case that our car journey, each Saturday, takes us past a brightly lit Tesco's and a few hundred yards further on to Sainsbury's there is Lidl's. However, Morrison's would involve a further 5 to10mins of travel, but might be worthwhile as an alternative to shopping at what is now a shadowy Sainsbury store.
Accordingly, as your firm's Swansea store has become oppressive and appears to be lit as if it is discount warehouse., I shall appreciate your comments; with a view to retaining at least two customers. Furthermore, is it intended to pass-on to customers the savings of electricity costs, or is an exercise being conducted to increase profits.?

Perhaps my dislike of Sainsbury's fluorescent lighting is somewhat Freudian because of a recent Dim experience which I have had.:-

Lighting is now back to normal within the store, which Viv and I visited again yesterday.
The E/mail reply I have received from Sainsbury's is appended, as follows.:-

Thanks for your email. I'm sorry that the lighting in our Swansea store was dim when you visited. I understand this must be disappointing for you.
We're very proud of our high standards, although it's clear that we've fallen short of them on this occasion. I would like to assure you that it's unusual for this to happen.
I contacted the store and spoke with a manager there. He confirmed that there were problems with the lighting in store last week and the store was much dimmer than usual. However, electricians have now rectified the problem and the lighting is back to normal.
If you would like to discuss this further, please contact the store manager Chris Thomson on 01792 653985. He'll be happy to answer any questions that you may have.
We're grateful for the time you've taken to contact us and look forward to seeing you in store again soon.
