I have always sent my Mum a card and bought a present, it has never seemed a money making racket to me just a special day for all Mums.
I often treat my Mum throughout the year as well.
My daughter has four children and she always buys for me even though I tell her to save her money.
I personally don't agree with the Nanna cards on Mother's Day as there is a separate day for that.
I would like to add a message for Jan1957 I think your Mother In Law would be pleased to receive a card off you and you could get to someone special if you have never called her Mum x
