Quiz shows........

I believe you have to audition to go on a quiz show.

If this is true, why are there so many people on them who know nothing. Are they chosen for the viewing public to think "I can do better"

Not talking Mastermind here. More, In it to win it, Perfection etc.

There seems to be a lot of contestants who know nothing, unless it's celebs or fashion.

Or maybe they are chosen so the TV company don't have to pay out the prize fund.

i was on a tv quiz show. I did have to audition. However when it came to the actual recording, they asked me questions i did not know the answers to!
