Ok My Husband lost his job at Christmas he was a projects manager for a construction company. He is 56 to young to retire but fancys a change.
Any ideas what he could look for ( what skills he could transfer ) he is in a bit of a mental mess as he does not know which route to take. He was a joiner by trade and has tryed this route, advertising ect but it is very poor out there at the moment. He was very good at his job but to me he seems to lack the confidence to try something different.
Many Thanks xx

sorry can't help with your specific question, but one idea:

has he considered re-training in the voluntary sector, for example working with youth, prison or homeless sectors etc? there are skills workshops out there which need people to teach these skills!
Advertise himself as a specialist in visiting new build homes to carry out an inspection on behalf of the buyer. If he is as good as you say then he will be aware of all the areas where we (oops sorry) builders, take short cuts and fail to do what was intended in the specs., and building regs coupled with good practice! After the first half dozen you will end up on a retainer to stay away from costruction sites!!
I second the idea posted above ^^^,
