Who is the target audience for this "test"? My ten words were exhalation, veiled, deflate, compassion, embassy, broil, ecstatic, impervious, causeway and tectonic.

Mine appeared to me more difficult than that, MR - lots of words with Siss~ in them (bishop's copes etc.... stuff I've never heard of)

The preamble to the test gives it away. It is targeted towards Americans. Say no more! One of my words was palpebral, which in my long life I have never even encountered, let alone used. Fortunately my Latin stood me in good stead.
