Life has been somewhat manic since our return from Gran Canaria. After a quick shop to fill the ‘fridge I dashed up to the golf club to resume my duties as Lady Captain. That afternoon was the final round of our annual bridge competition and I had to be around to present the trophy. On Thursday we were having our annual Ladies Dinner and the seating plan and final choices of food had to be sorted, together with the seating for the after dinner Military Whist. There is a new chef at the club and I had to meet him and check that all was in order. Fortunately he seemed to be on top of things, so no worries there.
On Wednesday I eventually got around to sorting the washing, only for the tumbler dryer – somewhat ancient- to die on me. Time was spent on the internet to find a replacement; choices made and I called one supplier to enquire when it could be delivered. Fantastic, the answer was the next day, with a 2 hour delivery slot. It couldn’t be better – apart from going to a local chain store and humping it myself.
By 10.30 the next morning I had my new tumbler dryer, so no more soggy clothes around the house. I know I could hang them outside but the weather at the moment is a bit unpredictable and I didn’t have time to dash in and out when rain threatened.
