Hi,

I wondered if anyone could shed light on my constant state of exhaustion. Like today for examlple, I feel like I went on a bender last night and only had a few hours sleep, yet I went to the gym and had about 8 hours sleep. I drink a lot of water and eat fairly well. The only thing I can think of is that I don't tend to eat much in the evening...

It's making me miserable and ratty and I'm sick of feeling tired.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Thanks

Sarah

Your symptoms point to a number of things - thyroid problems, aenemia (sp?), or maybe somehing unique to you.

The best solution is to see your GP, who will arrange for approporiate tests to ascertain what is causing your lethargy and irritability, and start treatment to get you well again.

Don't suffer any longer - make an appointment.

I bet you are waking up several times during the night. Is your mattress good? Room dark enough and right temperature? If I sleep with a heavy blanket, I wake up when I roll over. I also run a fan for white noise which drowns out most other sounds.

Reduce caffeine and alcohol, too. They are not good for sleep.

You could ask your doctor to do a blood test for hypoglycemia (low blood sugar levels) as one of the main symptoms for this is fatigue. I used to wake up even more exhausted than when I went to bed, with my whole body aching. But now that Ive made some changes to my diet I feel so much better its amazing! Things you need to avoid are sugar, white flour, caffeine & alcohol. Plus you need to eat regularly to keep blood sugar levels stable. Its a bit too complex to write down here, but look on the net theres loads of info. (Just so you dont worry, searches may bring up info on diabetes but you can be hypoglycemic and not diabetic) Even if it turns out that youre not hypoglycemic avoiding sugar could still benefit you.
Maybe you need iron? I would go ask the doctor, it most surely is a sound enough reason to go see one!
Could be low blood pressure...........see your doctor!!

Perhaps it could be stress related even. I would defo visit your General Practioner to whittle it down and find out what it is. Hope you feel better soon.
