The Chest Hospital have said that Fabrice Muamba has been able to breathe without the aid of a Ventilator. He has managed to say a few words in both English and French and has recognised some of the visitors to his bedside.

I know the kid has got a long way to go to recover, but the longest journey starts with one small step. I just pray that he continues to improve gradually and the experts wil ldo everythign in their power to help him.

Thank you mamya.
Please don't be cross with me, what I mean is we can only be concerned and worried about those in pain and trouble we know about, now you have told us - we know about your family member and they are now too in my prayers.
They took 2 hours to get his heart working under it's own steam (so to speak) today he has spoken - asked where his son was , so hopefully no damage.
"Please don't be cross with me". If you're referring to me mamya, I'm not cross! I was just thanking you for your concern.
And I can but pray and hope for your dear loved one - I know how very hard it is ((HUG))
It was an awful thing to happen, especially to a young fit man. I hope he continues to get better and my thoughts are for him and his family. Anybody with any compassion in their body will be wishing him well, it does not matter whether he is a person in the public eye of not. God Bless Fabrice, continue to get well.
I have a lot of compassion in my body, but at the moment it is all reserved for my dear relative who is battling cancer, not someone I don't know ...

mamya - you are a lovely person.
Every true football fan will wish him a speedy recovery.

Chapta - you do right to compress all your care and hope and love, for to share it at such a sad time is virtually impossible.
if good CPR was done but I'm just guessing it sounds more like a VF arrest and it may be his heart was externally paced for the time it took to get him to a cardiac centre this combined with artificial ventilation would reduce the risk of brain damage ... only they referred to his heart not beating by itself for 2 hours rather than not beating at all
