OVERHEATING FIESTA AFTER THERMOSTAT HOUSING REMOVAL?
hello all...well today decided to remove the thermostat housing from my partners 2002 mk6 fiesta 1.25 as its been leaking,i removed it from the side of the engine fitted a new gasket replaced all pipes etc started the engine within minutes there was a bubbling sound coming fron the coolant tank,it was bubbling and red hot,then the fan came on etc,i removed the cap and it fired out etc???.....started the engine with the cap off and the coolant was rising all the way to the top then going alll the way back down then coming all the way back up etc????....still bubbling.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Hi, top up the system with Summer / Winter antifreeze, start the car & switch on the heater ( No, I'm not joking) slacken one of the heater or top hose but do not remove, be prepared for hot water coming out of the hose, then re tighten the hose & try, do not take the car for a test drive until all the system is clear of air, if there is still some air in the system the heater will blow HOT / COLD that is your warning.
