What is a 'Throw-away' user profile?

I recently read a thread where the poster said they were using a 'throw away' profile as the subject was sensitive and they were a long time user and did not want their identity to be known . I was under the assumption you were only allowed one profile and if found out would be suspended. What is a throw away profile and how do you get one?

It would be a temporary one. One would suspect they cleared it with the mods first, or else the mods decided to be lenient in the circumstances.

If you have multiple e-mail addresses opening up further log-ins should not be difficult.

It's very much frowned upon to have more than one username for malicious reasons and would probably result in both usernames being suspended if you were to be found to have two and one or the other were being used for stirring.

It's kinda tolerated and understood if a user wants to create another username to ask something that may be sensitive or embarrassing.

You create another username exactly the same way as you created your current one, you just need another email address.

OG, it wouldn't relly be possible to clear it with the mods first. I wouldn't be able to contact all of the mods and I am one!

Also even if the use of a second name was cleared with the ED the mods would have no way of knowing this and might still ban/suspend the second name.

Realistically speaking though, if anyone pops up stating that they are using another name to remain anonymous for some reason and it seems like a genuine reason and question then I can't see anyone would suspend or ban the second name.

Dear Ed, please may I have a second username just for trolling with ? Naturally it would be embarassing if everyone knew it was me, they might not be very nice to me, so in the circumstances a second username seems the ideal solution.

I admit that I once set-up 'Itsnotme' to prove the point which you have made about registering with another e/mail address. However, I did let everyone now it was me.....He's no longer in existence ...Guess he said something which upset somebody.

I do have another username, but as pretty much everyone knows this is me it kinda defeats the point of having it for the remaining anonymous reasons...
