How come on E bay,  Sellers from N. Ireland do not charge extra postage to U.K. mainland but Sellers from U.K. mainland to N. Ireland do. Some charge double. Can anyone explain this to me?

They are taking the ****. There is no extra charge to post items from mainland UK to N Ireland, they are assuming most poeple will think there is and pay them more.

Thanks furrycheeky, though I reported them to ebay as I was so annoyed & Ebay informed me N. Ireland  post from UK is treated as international. Except give them all a geography lesson what else can I do? Thanks anyway.

If the items are sent by courier instead of by post, there could be an extra cost.  It obviously does cost the Royal Mail more to take something to Northern Ireland than to the next village, but they absorb this cost as a public service  (until the Post Office is privatised).  Private courier companies are unlikely to absorb this cost.

seller can charge any price for posting. i have seen the same item postage charge vary from �2.50 to �10.00.
