What do YOU do when your husband discovers your slush fund?

I like to call today black Wednesday. Admittedly I don't actually earn any cash as I am a stay at home mother/wife (or as I like to style my job title; cook, seamstress, psychologist, logistics director and domestic technician . . . Etc) and with the ridiculous cost of childcare offset against my husbands earnings the numbers just don't add up. Anyway, my husband gives me a regular amount of cash in my account every month for kids shoes, the odd extra grocery item (bottle of red for me please). however I find that with some stern recession style economising I could stash a load of it away, for things like, emergencies . . . and that handbag on eBay ;-)

Sadly I have had to come clean to hubby due to a minor emergency. But my question is as follows; I intend to start rebuilding my slush fund next month? Where and how do you hide yours?

I don't have one, don't ever want one!..........no need, we share everything, and if I want it, and we can afford it, he gives it to me!.........
i too have a "running away fund". Mine is just a seperate internet bank account
i have a runnign away fund, its only got £5 in at as i needed to raid it to get new specs :-(

i keep it a secret from myself tho :-)
I think 'running'is probably best avoided in your current clothing - you could have someone's eye out ;)
If i found out my mrs had a secret slush fund i would cut her house keeping dosh and put it into my own slush fund lol.
This thread certainly exposes the "poor down-trodden discriminated against" feminines as the devious manipulators they really are.

<[runs off to hide]>
Yep, i agree with Canary, a devious lot they are indeed.
in a previous relationship I tried to save to get away...

have a lot of accounts so could use one to hide away some treat money
ah but i'm not "running", i'm "runnign"

there is a distinction
My Husband and I are financially independent of one another. He doesn't know the details of my worth and similarly I don't know his, it's not a secret we're just not interested in each others finances. As long as bills are paid and food is on the table neither questions it.

If I wanted to hide money though I would definitely go for a paperless internet account.
