All the documents asked for have been sent. They now want a copy of her passport. I would have thought that NI number would be enough. Not so.
She is pulling her hair out with them. Grrrrrr Rant over.
Mic, maybe pop this over to Finance or Law. Hopefully someone there will be of assistance.
I think, only think mind you, that you get NI number when you reach 16 so wouldn't help as regards them wanting her birth certificate. I do hope it works out well for you both.
I read through the other thread and can't see why they are asking for all the verification that there doing - many, million, trillions of people use different names to the name that they were born with.
National Insurance numbers can be 'misused' but in most cases they should be an acceptable proof of identity.
Good luck with hitting your head against a brick wall.
micmak I am the same I am known as a different name been all my life than is on my B/C called different name as a child and it stuck. I have always said my name is ???? but been known as ???? all my life. But NI number is proof of identity of who you are there will be no problems I am sure.
Hang on in there, Mrs MM - you have a right to this pension. Don't give up, I known MM says you are comfortable if you don't get it, but why should you, when others get allowances they are not entitled to (but that's another story)?
