I usually send some on Comic relief and Its a fact that the UK is one of the most generous Country's for donating to charity.

But is there to much of it on TV and the media asking/begging for us to cough up every week, whether its for children or animals?

And it's an alien concept to them.
Yes Ummmm. And when things were better in some countries it was a good thing to have numerous children to work the land and care for the elderly.
Telling someone something is not education. Sex education has not worked in this country. Why should it elsewhere? Understanding is the key. How many females in the world still defer to their male partners? How many are able to decide whether or not they get pregnant?
Then bring in a programme to castrate all the males. Oh no that would be against their human rights wouldn't it? What about the human rights of the starving dying babies?
Absolutely ridiculous. Do you think the population of these countries should die out?
Surely the reason why parents in some underdeveloped countries have large numbers of children is to try to ensure that SOME of them survive. This instinct is not confined to humans.
Yes I have donated. I do every year for Comic Relief, Sports Relief and Children in Need.
'breeding' such a clinical word usually used for animals not humans!
Yes, Ive bought the Tshirt and am running the mile tomorrow. Havnt got any sponsers though as I do so much fund raising throughout the year, I cant keep asking for sponsership. I paid to enter and £5 of the Tshirt money goes to them so that my bit for them.
Such a huge amount of ignorance concentrated in such a small space.

I guess that's what they mean by 'Dense'.....?

no.
How many pensioners died from the cold this winter? Or even last winter?
I give to both animal and children's charities because it is up to me to decide where my money goes. None of your business scorpio.
I know a few pensioners from when I was house cleaning and they all had the money to keep their home warm but wouldnt. One used to sit in the dark on an evening with a 1 fire bar on and a blanket around her legs. I informed her offspring what she was like and they laughed and said shes always been like that. When she died she left about £100k plus the house the them. Perhaps thats what she wanted to save her money for. Her choice.

There will always be cases of poverty My parents were not far off, but we were always fed and clothed and huddled around an open fire. They didnt spend what bit of money they had on fags and booze and then claim poverty.

I do feel for the third world countries, but we also need to look after our own genuine cases too.
We're living in a global village now. Everyone deserves help.
scorpio and daisynonna if I want to give to animal charities, then I will!!! Why should animals suffer and nothing be done to help - they feel pain and fear too and if I can do anything, anything at all to stop that then I will and I won't be made to feel that I am in the wrong by ANYBODY!!! I have compassion for anyone and anything suffering and will always donate or speak out when I can, be it animals or humans.
