I'll own up - I saw the film once, years ago, can't remember if I liked it or not...

Ry Cooder was the first slide guitarist I thought of, then the title popped into my head :-)

I have the film on DVD and it is one of my favourites. Since it lasts 2.5 hours you need to be in the mood to settle down and watch it.
