standard azalaea
we were given an azalea - as an indoor plant - at Christmas. It's just finished flowering and has been pruned/clipped to a mini tree. It's about a foot high, with all the leaves at the top. I'm guessing that [1] we keep it indoors and [2] and potential sideshoots and leaves are rubbed off? Thanks

I have never had a standard Azalea but have had ordinary ones in the house and find the best treatment for them is, once danger of frost is passed, to keep them outside for the summer, making sure that they never dry out. If you live in an area with hard water it is better if you water with rain water as they do not like lime. Then, bring the plant back inside at the end of the summer. At that point, I keep fairly dry until I see the flower buds forming and then water as normal. Think if you watch the shape now, and during the summer, it should be OK.
