For some reason my shoe cupboard has become a bit unpleasant.

The main culprits seem to be my Shape-Ups. They really ponk.

Does anyone use trainer tamers, or that spray that they have in bowling alleys?

I might need to get something.

Or can't you get some little wooden balls from places like Body Shop?

I put bicarb in them and leave for a couple of days then brush it out... if that doesn't work washing machine cool wash and a detergent with a built in 'freshener'

My Hi tec walking type trainers and a pair of black leather work shoes are the worst culprits

bicarb?

Golly
Bicarb will get the whiff out of most anything....even from doggie 'accidents'.
...wonderful stuff cleans and freshens all sorts of things
Someone once told me that putting shoes in the freezer will kill the bateria causing the smell. I thought I'd give it a go, some months later whilst poking around in the freezer I found a mysterious carrier bag containing my ballet pumps that I'd been hunting for!

It didn't work BTW.
