Blimey, mines the cheapest then
£7.50, she comes to my house and I pay her a tenner and a cuppa and chat and home made cake =)
Mmm, my £55 is sounding somewhat extortionate......
LOL Mrs O!!!!
Blimey oj that is cheap. My Mum has a hairdresser that comes to her house, but she charges a lot more than that. Mum loves her though and she does her hair just as she likes it and us girls know that's worth its weight in gold !
My cousin has a salon so I go there. She charges me £10 for a wash, cut and blow-dry and £25 for a colour, cut, wash and blow-dry. I tip between £10-£15, sometimes £20 if I go on a Saturday because I have taken up a stylist's time when they could have had a full-paying customer instead.
Small local hairdresser - I get a very good cut and blow dry for £14.50 - usually leave a couple of quid as a tip.
I must be on another planet then, I live with my Daughter & SIL & we have a hairdresser who does home calls every 6 weeks & she charges me £5 for hair & beard trim.

Thanks for the replies. I had to find a new hairdresser as my regular one had moved away and I wasn't sure of today's prices. I only go 2 or 3 times a year but OH remarked that it needed to be brought under control!

Great, mrs o
This has reminded me that I haven't had my hair cut for 6 1/2 years! Just think of the money I have saved.
I pay nothing as I look on gumtree for whoever needs a model - and it is mostly Toni and Guy. OK you have to give up around 2.5 hours for a trainee to cut it but it is under strict supervision. No charge for the wash, head massage and cut and blow dry and any products they use.
mine is free
He charges £22 and I give him £25. Another I went to charged £25 but she wasn't as good. I still gave £2 tip though, too embarrassed not to.
Mme S keeps it a secret for some reason. The dog and I share an electric trimmer and the thinning shears. Always clean them before using them on the dog as hygiene so important.
i bought my mum a voucher at my local hairdressers for a cut and blow dry with the senior stylist that does my hair, it was £39

I nearly had a heart attack. My mum has a short boy style hair do and I thought £39 for that was a bit OTT

I have really long hair and normally get it coloured so didn't know the breakdown of the prices. NOrmally when i get a cut and t-section coloured and washed and dried its £79 which I think its good for my hair
£12
£29 and i give 10% tip! hmmmm.....
i rarely get my hair cut as i do my own... but when i do i wouldnt even think to leave a tip and if i did it wouldnt be anywhere near £5!
thats a masive amount to leave for someone who just washed your hair - which is her job and which she is paid to do...

so you didnt tip the person who actually spent an hour on your hair...just the girl who washed it?
