Spamming email account?

I've recently received four emails from my daughter and her partner over a period of a few weeks that provide a link to an american advert regarding the money to be made from working at home.

The email content is little else than an instruction to click on the link provided in the body of the email. I've checked the emails prior to opening with both Avast! and Norton and the link takes me to a website that discusses how much money can be made by working from home ( in the USA ).

The email has been sent to a number of family members and friends as well as myself and all the recipients are known to one another.

It's been suggested that this may have something to do with Facebook and I'm fairly certain that all the email recipients have Facebook accounts.

As I see it, the worst case scenario is that my daughter may have to close her Hotmail account to put a stop to this but any other suggestions would be very useful.

whatever you do, if you suspect spam, don't open those links - that's what they want you to do, that just spreads the spam, you don't know what's behind those links. That's the worst case - damage, not just your daughter's account being spammed. If it doesn't look right, whoever it's from - delete it.

It's nothing to do with Facebook. It's to do with the fact that Hotmail is a bag of crap.
