As I am reluctant to believe that the British public would behave in this manner spontaneously, it can only be assumed that the producers of this increasingly cruel and contrived excuse for a talent show instruct the audience beforehand on the types of reactions, facial expressions etc they should use at any given moment. If this is the case, then shame on the audience anyway. The incident in question was appalling and shameful to witness and such behaviour can only demean the UK and it's standing in the world. Simon Cowell's dismissive reaction of "...that was a long time ago, we're friends now" was also pathetic and inexcusable. I shall be making my official complaint to the regulating authority and, like I am sure many people, sincerely hope that he (SC) and the producers are forced to make a formal and public apology.
