Where can I get the 12volt motor for an electric window repaired or refurbished. It's for an old Rover and the part is no longer available out of stock

Try looking in your local Yellow Pages or Thompson for an Electrical Motor / Rewinds workshop.

Recently did this with a windscreen wiper motor and they did a great job at significantly less than the 100 Volvo wanted for a new one.

The cheapest (and quickest) route of all would simply to be to seek one from a breaker's yard. (It'll probably cost something like 15-20). Forget the web, Yellow Pages is still the best place to start. (The listing is 'Car & Commercial Vehicle Dismantlers'). You might have to make a few dozen calls but it'll be worth it.

Have a look on ebay, you will be suprised - theres parts on there for the rover P5 which was made not long after electricity was even invented !
