I am in no way judging the programme unseen - I just don't find anything educational or enlightening in this type of show, and God forbid anyone would find it entertaining.

Well, as you have all decided to judge before you watched, i m the only on qualified to comment. It was far from gruesome,or grim, just general insight as to how these unfortunate human beings (who are just as entitled to form a relationship as the rest of us) struggle, but never once got defeated, it really was humbling to watch.....imho......and i take my hat off to them for taking part in something that was filmed. I for one am so glad i watched it and shall continue to do so
^^ I agree. With the problems these people are obliged to live with, I have nothing but admiration for their fortitude and strength of character. This is a well-made programme, highlighting the difficulties that those who are often overlooked and forgotten by society face in attempting to find a partner and lead a fulfilling life. Such documentaries offer the more fortunate among us a valuable education.
curly - not 'all' of us have judged this programme unseen - if I may quote from my carefully worded response - "I am in no way judging the programme unseen ..." - I am pleased that you enjoyed the programme, and as I said i avoid all programmes of this type because I simply don't get anything from them.
You are indeed qualified to comment on this individual programme, having watched it, but in the wider debate, others are making points based on the concept of the programme, for which watching it is not an essential aspect of having a view.

I cringed my way through with the family last night, and much as I respect and appreciate their issues, we have dealt with them directly, the guy with Tourettes was funny because he used his Tourettes as a comedy act, in fact his outbursts were hilarious. I've seen worse in these type of docs, this one was pretty well handled I thought
Andy, I actually think watching a programme is essential to having a view on it. Even though you said you weren’t judging the programme unseen, you added, ‘I just don't find anything educational or enlightening in this type of show, and God forbid anyone would find it entertaining’, so you were very clearly judging it unseen. It certainly wasn’t what you appear to have expected it to be.
