I want to reduce the pipe run distance from my combi boiler to the hot water taps. Is it possible to use PVC flexible pipework instead of copper to make the job easier?

Not advisable!! You would be better off using flex pipe which is intended for the purpose, eg speedfit or hep2o ask at your local plumbers merchant. the fittings just push together for a watertight fit

A plumber told me that you can't use speedfit etc right up to the boiler as the water coming out is too hot.

pipe work from the boiler should be minimum 2m on HEATING flow and return runs at 82 degrees ish too hot for plastic pipe

flow to taps ok in hep2o or speedfit any distance temp of water no hotter than 55 or so degrees depending on temp setting of combi if too hot you would scald yourselves btw some plastic fittings are temperature rated speedfit i think, i had one fail some years ago a

fountain is right about speedfit, you have to use speedfit a metre away from boiler.so use it near the taps!!!!!!!!

Top marks to all for the replies. It was Speedfit I was thinking about and I will remember to start it well away from the boiler.
Many thanks.
