Size of screen

I have obviously clicked on something without knowing but my screen has suddenly changed. Not sure I can describe this correctly but I can now see my screensaver behind the window I am viewing at the top and bottom as though the window has shrunk! I hope someone can help as it is very annoying. Thanks.

Errrm if I've understood you right, just click the maximise button in the top right of the window (next to the X)

... and that's not your screensaver that you can see, it's your desktop wallpaper.

Thanks for trying to help Chuck but did the only thing I know how to do, a system restore to two days ago, and it seems to have worked. I really do wish I knew what I was doing??

button f11 will full screen and back again but it doesn't sound like that was the problem...
