The Guardian puts forward the notion that Radio Two is becoming a home for Radio One's cast-offs, with the news that Dave Pearcce has joined the sation - although he has been on Six Music for a while.
Personally, i think R2 does have an excellent mix of programmes and broadcasters, but I do wonder why people like Steve Wright and Johnny Walker hang on to their positions when both are patently characatures of what they once were.
As far as Dave Pearce is concerned, his obsession with 'the weekend' and the notion that dance clubs were a reason for living have long since passed their sell-by date, and I always found anything he said to have been forgotton in the following five seconds.
Any thoughts?

Weekday mornings are awful, with the execrable screeching of Vanessa Feltz followed by the irritatingly juvenile Chris Evans. Saturday afternoons are rubbish, Richard Allinson's great show is just a faded memory as he's relegated to the graveyard shift. The R2 controller seems to think that we want to hear big names, even if they have no talent for presenting a radio show. It's Radio one and a half and it's rubbish!
