Was on another chat site earlier and one dear lady posted this:

"Stiff and achy this morning, did too much yesterday though hardly anything compared to someone fit and (dare I say it?) younger!
So feeling my age today, that's because I reach 67yrs on Monday."

I certainly don't consider 67 as old - I'm nearing 66 and still hill walk, garden, decorate, dance and work 20 hours a week. Am I perhaps just fortunate that I keep really good health, or are some folks just old before their time?

My Mum is 66 but you would think she was still in her 50's to look at her. She still works 40 hours a week (well she did until Sunday when we sold our business!) I wouldn't say 67 was old at all. I do find though there are some "old" 50 year olds and "young" 70 year olds. It's just how you feel inside I guess.

you were on another site?

How very dare you!!!

;-)
Fortunate.

My Dad died at 59.
It depends on what your health has been like throughout your life really, I am only 62 but because of years of suffering sciatica I feel much older!

Sorry Boo, just had a sneaky peek!!

Yes, guess I am just lucky. Mum died at 54 but dad lived a very long and active life. Died when he was 95, gardening and walking long distances up til the end.
Maybe in the genes?
my late father passed away from cancer at 73, however before those final three years of his life he was exceedingly healthy and fit .. he was still even beating me at badminton. people said he looked 15 years younger than he was (i miss you pops)
I thought my Dad was a fit man but he died at 54, had pains in his stomach & blood in his stools. 6 weeks later he died.

I think staying active is important as we get older, in body and mind.
id say you were very fortunate im coming up to 65 this year and due to ill health i cant do half of what i used to do.. :( ....
IMO it depends on health, and state of mind too.

My MIL is younger than my sister, but my MIL thinks she's an old lady - my sister certainly doesn't - and they are both in their seventies.
I don't consider 67 old either maggie, not nowadays anyway. I'm older than that and I don't consider myself old and neither do my younger (a lot younger) friends. In fact they laugh if I mention I might possibly be getting old. I quite like that:-)
I'm 60, I had a serious bout of ill-health 3yrs ago, but over that now, I work 48hrs a week, do a lot of walking with the dogs as well, and regard age as 'just a number'. If/when it catches up with me I will adjust things to suit.
as already been said,numbers mean nowt,I'm only 53,but a,overweight&
b,have M/S which effects my legs
I'm only 63 but have chronic arthritis, apparently from playing so much soprt when I was younger!
I'm 57 this year and still working 40-45 hours a week, most of which a spend on my feet on the shop floor, I asked on the entitled to site for my retirement date and it said 2020, thank God, I thought I had to work until I was 67, though I intend trying to work on.
Yes craft, I've found that arthritis has crept into old sports injuries, ie right knee injured whilst skiing. The big A finds your weak spots it seems to me.
Good grief I'm forty, can some kind soul please pour me a Rum.

;-)
I'm 65 later this year maggie and certainly don't feel it, I try to keep young and reasonably fashinable and want to fend off old age! But it all depends on your joints as to how active you are ..... I have really bad knees (both the same) which can restrict my gardening and walking now. I still do both activities through gritted teeth as I can't bear the thought of losing mobility. I know I should have ops to replace knees but am a coward I suppose, due to the long recovery time!
