What is the name of a professional trained person who would deal with and give radium treatment to a cancer patient? thank you

A lady i spoke with (who had been treated for breast cancer) kept saying "the professor" how marvelous he was and that he done the biopsy....well sqad...do you think she is referring to the oncologist?
No, it is more likely that a surgeon did the biopsy.
probably. oncolgists do not actually give chemo (well not in my experience of 12 years working with them)
bednobs....although ilovemarkb said who would GIVE chemotherapy, I don't think she meant the nurse..........I may be wrong.

THANKS AGAIN!!! Yes I did mean on a more senior level. So just out of curiosity what is, or does a professor do? (last question lol)
A professor is an academic title given to many branches of medicine and surgery...e,g Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Gastro-Enterology, Psychiatry and so on...............an Academic title.
