The picture in the leaflet looks quite nice in it's raw state but no mention of what type of cheese nor whether it's smoked bacon or not.

If I plucked up the courage to do my own, please give me ideas on what type of cheese and bacon to wrap round the chicken breasts. Thank you.

Streaky smoked bacon.... and I use something like double gloucester as it melts nicely
i would stuff the chicken breast with cheese then wrap the bacon

i;ve done it with soft cheese, italian begind with d, can't remember the name and used smokey bacon to wrap. sear it first then stick in the oven
dolcelatte
and garlic of course.....
Slices of Emmental or Leerdammer work well. And it's always entertaining watching people cope when the cheese goes all stringy.
streaky bacon,wensleydale cheese.(bbc food)

problem solved, thank you all. No best answer as you are all stars.

I'll attempt the double gloucester stuffing and wrap with the smoked steaky bacon. All I need to do now is to convince the rest of the Albapets.

Kiki, stringy cheese and my dentures do not get on, so I guess you'd have a good laugh. Quite rightly too !!

steaky bacon, lawdy, streaky :-)
you can also grate the cheese and add some herbs and garlic
Emmenthal inside and any good bacon....panacetta is good but can be a little salty, so prosciuttio is a good substitute for that and works well - or go for Spanish panceta or equivalent of ham.
what time is dinner?

Won't be attempting it til next Tuesday or Wednesday, but will report back (I know you're not that interested, however)

I just get fed up buying the same type of food and having the same type of evening meal. Am looking forward to ttrying this and not telling them :-)
You say in your original post that it looks quite nice in its raw state. In that case I would eat it as such.
I would always use lancashire cheese for cooking. You cant beat the flavour. Sounds lovely, I can almost smell it :>)

ooh, Mike, no no no-de-no. Raw chick nasty. Raw bacon on it's own can be quite tasty.
When I was in the USSR 38 years ago I was amazed that bacon, on the rare occasion that it was available, was eaten raw. Having said that, curing is a form of preservation so to that extent I suppose that it had been "cooked".
