this is a duplicate post anyway - I know you are a new member, but there is no need to post twice.
Quite often items are marked with an X next to the factory markingsto denote that it has a defect, often very hard to find but enough to prevent it being sold as a perfect. For instance I inherited some Royal Doulton from my mother one of which is marked as a second, we've gone over it many times with a glass and never found any obvious defect but any dealer will no at a glance that there is something wrong with it some where
Without actually seeing and examining the item it is impossible to say if it is genuine or a reproduction. Sorry !
Even then we are not experts at everything, for instance if you were asking about an vintage camera I could give a very good idea of the value. I buy and sell vintage cameras but vase's are outside my experience.
if it is any help take a good photo and send to one of the better auction houses... also a photo and ideally a 'rubbing' of any marks that are scribed into the clay. really need a photo to get a better idea
There's a photo on one of steven's other threads about this, rowan.
