Made in the 1950s, A night to remember depicted the officers as decent chaps and some of the lower ranks as self serving bullies.
I believe in the recent version, Titanic, some of the officers were show as gun wielding thugs.
If there's another Titanic film made 50 years from now how will the class issue be treated?
I only recall one gun wielding thug of an officer shown in the recent Titanic and that was Murdoch
Cameron had to apologise and there is a plaque on the town hall wall in the town 20th Century Fox made a donation of £5k by way of an apology to help pay for it
As for 50 years down the line?
Who knows? I suspect, very strongly, it will end the same but highly unlikely any officer will be shown in the way Titanic showed Murdoch again
If there is to be another Titanic film in 50 years sandy, I just thank God I'll have shuffled off my proverbial mortal by then.....been done to death IMHO....
don't trust any film to get this right, but the actual evidence. Film makers play with the truth to make it a better drama. I hated Titanic by James Cameron, waste of several hours of my life.
