A friend has asked me to ask - he cannot get travel insurance that covers a laptop to take to Thailand for a few weeks. Standard TI only seems to cover specified individual items under £100 and a specialist insurer wouldn't cover a laptop less than 6 months old. Can anyone help please?

The Post Office classic travel insurance (available in branches) seems to include valuables (including computers) for up to £300. A single trip policy is available for a trip of up to 90 days. If this is not suitable then a phone call to the Post Office travel insurance people may well yield a suitable policy as they have many other policies than that offered in branches.
