Have just taken a trip down memory lane and brought the box of delights (80's childrens christmas serial).

Apart from its hammy acting one of the characters keeps on referring to things as being purple pims (the way it is said sounds like its indicating that the thing is a pain in the backside).

Its set in the 30's...does anybody know if this was an actual saying or were they just making stuff up as they went along.

I couldn't remember the name of it till I read your post, I've talked about it with people to try and find the name but no-one seemed to have heard of it. Thank you, I'm going to try and buy a copy now :-)

Hi mycatis...it's part of the bbc childrens classic range....they've also released the borrowers, narnia, and 5 children and it. You should be able to get it from somewhere like HMV or Virgin....I got my copy at play.com.

lol thanks Coobeastie, I've already put a bid in for one on E-Bay, will probably look for the others too now :-)
