Does anyone know whether it's possible to get access to a deceased person's will? If someone died and you expected to hear something from the executor to your benefit but didn't, what should you do? How could you find out if the executor had carried out the will's provisions?

All 'proved' wills are public documents. They are held by the probate registry. Details of how to obtain a copy of a will are here but, if at all possible, I'd suggest a personal visit to one of the addresses shown towards the bottom of the page;

Of all the various departments of government I've ever dealt with, the Probate Office staff have been by far the most efficient and helpful, so you shouldn't find much difficulty in obtaining the relevant document.

Remember that if you were left an article rather than money and the deceased had already sold/lost/given away that article you get nothing.
