My mother is 91,last year she lived in a warden controlled flat, and sent anglian water a cheque in April for the years water, £120. two montha later she moved, I did the phoning bit and sorted the water for Her ( in Her name) at the new address, telling them she had moved etc. this was last year, yesterday we got a bill for the last three months at her new address, which I was going to pay on Her behalf, when she said " did we ever get the money back from the other house?" She then showed me the bill and cheque number. i phone Anlian water, asked about it, and the girl said" Yes, there is a credit of £97 on the old address in your Mothers name" So, If I hadn't phoned and asked, or Mother had died , where would that money go?? I think it is a disgrace, they new full well who she was and that she had moved. If you miss a payment, they are on you like a ton of bricks. it's about time the Water was opened to public enterprise, so you have an option, like the electric, gas and phone. that makes them nicer people!!
