Roast a chicken breast, cut into small pieces and serve. My cats love it.

As an alternative, steam some cod (after removing all bones).

One of my cats loves prawns. You can get a big bag of frozen ones quite cheaply!..He also loves bits of cooked liver, but not too much!

Thanks guys .. will try all these yummy things.. Pusskins says miaw too and ty.

You can find some interesting recipes here: http://www.simplypets.com/pet-recipes/Cat/Meal

I think you'll find cats try most things though - I once had a cat that ate soya mince - I was eating my beanfeast curry and the phone rang. I came back to find said moggy on the table munching away at my vegetarian supper!

Be careful with prawns, btw, many companies add salt. So if you do buy them rinse and squeeze, rinse and squeeze!!

my three fat cats like cooked beef mince and sometimes from the large supermarkets you can buy salmon trimmings and skin for about 50p,which you just boil for a few seconds, checking for bones though.

Hey Greeneyes .. that's a great tip ... look out Tesco's here I come. Thanks a bunch
Please don't forget that cats need essential amino acids which they can't manufacture for themselves, so while these suggestions are lovely treats, it's important to feed a complete food too, at least once in while.

Eels... What an important point... I will do so,thank you .I won't forget. ;))

Make sure that everything is cooked well. Some people are really into feeding raw diets because that is what they would eat in the wild, but it is a really good way to get nasty stomach infections, and other ailments.

Cats can not get all the necessary nutrients from simply human equivalent meals, and there are a few necessary supplements that are vital to cat health.

Speak to your vet for advice. Some herbal additives can be useful but the wrong doses will kill the animal. Raw meats can introduce parasites, and not all meat from a supermarket is additive free by any means. Butchers meat would be better - for you as well as a cat - or you could at least verify the source. Cheap meat from Tanzania anyone?

Canned cat food is generally more palatable to the animals than home prepared, but if you are averse to the major brands, have a look at http://www.burns-pet-nutrition.co.uk/product_range.htm#CAT for ethical holistic pet food for cats (and other animals) as one alternative.

Hope this is useful. (2 cats run this house....)

Left over human food like chicken, sausages, fish is just as good if not better than tin cat food which is horrible. My mum buys her cat liver and fresh chicken.
