monmouth register of births
if a girl,in the 1960s,had a child in a catholic reform school,where would the birth be registered?...in the local church...registery office...with the nuns?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.England and Wales both come under the same General Register Office and registered births are in the same national GRO index, the birth would have been registered at the register office that covered the hospital / district that covered the school, even if the school had it's own infirmary or maternity ward, which is probably the case. The entry would be indexed nationally and a certifird copy of the entry will be available from the local register office.
