I have just caught my dog rummaging through the rubbish bag and she has eaten a chicken carcass that was in there. What should I do? I've read some things online and have given her some bread and making sure
She's drinking plenty. Anything else I should do? Thanks x
I am sure he will be find. Cats eat all kind of things, I have friends that dogs eat socks and all sorts. Just keep an eye on him. If he is in distress then call vets.
Its usually just the tiny bones which splinter and get caught in the throat that you need to worry about - if she is not choking or in distress I should think she will be ok but can you ring an emergency vet to make sure?.
Thanks for the advice on here, I contacted the out of hours vets in the end and they just said to keep an eye on her for when she goes to the toilet to make sure there's no blood in her stools. She has been ok today "touchwood" xx
I know this is no help but I always make sure that chicken bones go in the outside bin. Dogs will find them if they're in the house. I speak from experience.
I'm learning quickly. I was literally about to put the bin out, the chicken bones were the last thing to go in there. Popped upstairs to get something, came down and the bones were gone. She seriously must have inhaled them! So lucky she didn't choke on them. x
