I read the other day that IKEA has overtaken John Lewis as the UK's favourite store.
How many of you do not have an IKEA product in your home?

Most of us have been to and bought something in IKEA and most of us seriously disliked the experience.
I think meatballs got a thumbs up though ;-)
It's remarkable on this very small survey that they have overtaken JL as the UK's favourite store. The two experiences are totally polarised and all the while I fully accept that IKEA is cheaper than JL, there are some bargains to be had in JL.

I don't get everyone's problem with Ikea. As long as you mentally prepare yourself for how busy it will be first then it's fine.
And you know, they don't have police guarding the yellow brick road. You can just skip through the shop to the bit you want. I've managed to kit out almost an entire house for idea for a fraction of the price of other places, especially JL and sure the stuff might fall apart after a while but everything I've bought from there so far has lasted well. They don't pretend to be selling high end goods, you know you're gona get flack pack that takes a week to make but it's good for people like me who have no hope of affording the JL equivalent.

I've got a whole wall of Billy bookcases! Nothing wrong with them they serve a purpose and didn't break the bank. I seldom wander through the store I go straight to the market place and pick up what I need - you don't have to follow their path unless you want to - there are short cuts. I love John Lewis I'm in there more often than Ikea
