PSD File

I have been sent a file in the format of .PSD but I am unable to open this. Can anyone please confirm what I need to do to enable me to complete this process. Thanks for any help

A PSD is created by Photoshop. Unfortunately, the sender has foolishly assumed that you have this software.

You should contact them and ask that they send it in a more standard format such as .JPG or .BMP which you will be able to open.

Are you sure you don't have software on your computer already which will open this, even in a non editable form? For instance, Macs come with Preview which will open psd files (also eps, jpeg, tiff etc).

.psd is the format of the photo shop .

you are trying to open with some other software so installed the photo shop software in the computer and thna try to open it.

otherwise contact them to send the file in the different format as .jpg,.doc. etc.

thanks for your help with this problem. I am still unable to open the file. I went on the website for the free converter, but obviously I didn't know what I was doing as the file still does not open. I am unable to go back to the sender now until after easter, so I would like to open it before then. Thanks for any further help. As you can tell I am not technically minded!!!!
