What could I do ?

About 20 odd years ago we had the chimney sweep out .got talking to him in the garden .We were looking up at the pots as we lived in a semi detached house .Any way he said youve got a cracked pot there ..so being on the careful side and taking his advice on how it could fall down injure someone or break the roof tiles I decided to get t replaced .Anyway 40 quid later pot replaced everything grand .A few day laterI just realize I had replaced the neighbours pot .Well what could i do .Time flue and it did not soot me to ask or mention it to him and he did not not mention it .So forty quid up in smoke so to speak

Surely the person who replaced the chimney was at fault - you should've told him to come back!
