Does this advert offend?

I have seen this particular insurance advert on a number of occasions and I have often wondered how long it would be before it attracted complaints, well true to form it has happened.
Much as they wish to cover it up I am convinced that it is the jolly large black woman (jolly in the term of happy) that I think most are showing concern about.
/// and that it is offensive in stereotyping on religious and race grounds. ///
I still can't understand where the religious aspect comes in though.
But thank goodness common sense has prevailed and we can continue to enjoy a rather enjoyable cartoon even if it comes in the form of an advert.

As for offence based on stereotypes, I hardly see any ads. these days because most of my viewing is pre-recorded, and ads are whisked through at speed.
I would suggest it appears to be a degree of over-reaction, but everyone has a right to be offended.

jno, third picture down – skinny black guy on the right standing by the blue car – and to the left of the picture, fat white guy standing by tree – oh and there’s another fat white man standing by the coconut shy too.
Actually, I don’t object to the cartoon, but I do object to people who look for a racism in everything. That serves only to create racism. Seeing that poor dog on the ‘ring the bell’ contraption, I’m surprised no one has complained about animal cruelty too. Load of silly nonsense!
