card machine

Anyone any experience of card machines? I`m looking for one to go in my new shop. I have had one company involved but they messed me about sending the wrong machine and posting to the wrong address etc etc. I dont know where to start to look really so any help would be appreciated.

Who was the company? Do you have a merchant account already or are they sorting that too? Tried Cardsave?

Make sure you check the costs involved with each one you look at. You might find some appear cheaper than others to rent but they may charge more per transaction and vice-versa.

I ordered one last year but when it arrived we (the wife) said we didn't need it as the majority of our customers paid cash and never really asked about paying by cards.

I'm not putting you off getting one but make sure you know all the details first.

Thanks for those answers. Its very confusing different when companies charge varied rates and for different reasons! Until we get one I`m not sure which would be the best. I am wondering about having one after all to be honest! It was Cardsave that messed us about to be honest. Its been a farce from beginning to end. Thanks again.

Update on Cardsave....We just got a bill for £500.00 from Cardsave. It seems that’s the standard "early cancellation fee." Considering that we have it on the signed contract that we hadn’t a phone line in the building for a machine, which they ignored. And sent a machine that required one. Nor a letter box. So the mailing address was mine and not the businesses, which they ignored! And we had to start again. I value my time and am certainly not wasting anymore of it on there shoddy company, the bills gone in the bin. That said I’m waiting to see what the bunch of incompetents do next. I`ll update.
