Beautiful location on the St Just Roseland peninsula, near St Mawes, lovely little village of Portscatho nearby and a good beach. The hotel has just achieved a Michelin Star for its food.
Not too many nightclubs nearby, though probably a couple of small ones in St Mawes.

If you really have notes to burn then there is the Tresanton in St Mawes, Lord Forte's daughter who did the telly thing on small businesses, Alex Polizzi or something like that, It is nice but truly pricey and for the jet-set...
http://www.tresanton.com/ The food is not bad either, ate there recently with friends who were down staying there.
Avoid Newquay like the plaque - it is ghaaaaaaaaaaastly, darling.
