1 - I might be way off the mark, as it's set in the '60s US, but it could be The Outsiders ( C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Matt Dillon). One of them definitely died after a barn caught fire.

As regards #1. Could it have been 'Blue Remembered Hills' by Dennis Potter? A group of kids, all played by adults, lose their innocence after one of them is killed in a burning barn.

It was set in that time period, in an idealised England around the New Forest. The BBC produced it and I remember seeing it in the late 70's (Although it was recently repeated on BBC4).

not harry potter - film was made around the 80's - mite have been set in australia? (my mate reckons there were aborigionies in it ?)

number 2 could be Frog Dreaming . thats not what i remember it being called though, but its what it says on imdb. it was on tv a few times years ago.

Yeah scally, you're right: it was frog dreaming, which was also known as "The Go Kids".

That's what I remember it as.
