non-coloured wires?
4 Answers
I am putting up a 5 light Marie Theresa chandelier and had to cut the main cable coming thru' the central column of the chandelier as it was hanging too low. I've now come to re-connect the wires to the terminal block but they are not colour coded so how do I know which is live, neutral and earth?

If you have a multimeter, you do a continuity test to find the which of the three (I assume) wires is connected to the metal casing of the chandelier. The other pair (Live and Neutral) do not matter which way around they are (for a light this is true).
If you do not have access to a multimeter or do not understand what I am talking about, then refer to a handiperson...

It is very important that the metal case of a chandelier is properly earthed.
