These ads that appear before Jeremy Kyle are absolutely awful. I don't get it? Asking some woman a stupid question and her pulling a stupid face! Can someone enlighten me please?

I have not seen the advert.
But you remembered the advert, and that is half the battle.
There are a lot of adverts at the moment that go after the "awful" market where the advert gets remembered for how awful they are.
"Go compare" (with the opera man) and "We buy any car" are two that come to mind.
In a crowded market being remembered is the main thing.

"What's awful about Jeremy Kyle?"
Judge Alan Berg, speaking in a case in 2007 in which some idiot had head-butted another idiot on the show and they'd broadcast it, described it as:
"trash which exists to titillate bored members of the public with nothing better to do".
and
"It seems to me that the purpose of this show is to affect a morbid and depressing display of dysfunctional people whose lives are in turmoil"
and he also described it as " human bear-baiting"

True, I did remember the ad. Just makes me wonder what goes through the minds of the people who create the adverts - (Oh I know, let's create an advert asking some woman if she waxes her top lip and get her to pull a stupid face, perfect for advertising Bingo!) lol.
Hey, who said I was watching Jeremy Kyle?? Maybe I had it on the background lol. I don't mind watching it to be honest, it makes me laugh. It annoys me when people watch it and moan about it. You can change channels or switch off.

What's awful about Jeremy Kyle? Where do I start?
1. The programme takes advantage of (usually) poor, (usually) badly educated people who ( usually) have an addiciton or mental health problems of some sort and...
2. Asks them to display often very humiliating aspects of their unhappy existance which will come back to bite them for a very long time after the show is over when they go back their own communities.
3.Sets them up in an audience and Kyle run Kangaroo Court where the best liar wins public applause and the implied transgressor is castigated.
4.The host is as much a flawed character as the people he has on his show having suffered massive gambling addictions etc, so scarcely in a position to go doling out the outrage.
5. He has no substance to anything he says, all you hear are the same tired catchphrases that send his sub moronic audience into a frenzy when he insults his guests.'STEP UP AN BE A DAAAAAD!!!!' etc etc etc
6. It normalises really naff behaviour both by highlighting that the contestants think it's normal otherwise they wouldn't do it and by him being constantly loud, rude and abusive to people who are guests.
7. It generally dumbs down the public.
8. I really could go on ad nauseum about this abhorrant waste of money being pitched as entertainment but I'm sure you get my drift.

Nox,I find a lot of TV shows a waste of money.Strictly Come Dancing,X-Factor,Panorama,anything with Alexander Armstrong in,to name a few,so I don't watch them, obviously you watch the Jeremy Kyle Show,Why? One more thing,am I not allowed an opinion or do I have to agree with people like you?(Just wondering).
Nox, some of you points raised are true, Kyle does repeat himself with comments sch as "Put something at the end of it" "From where i come from" "This is called the Jermey Kyle Show, I'll speak" etc etc but he has very decent moral and knows what's right.
I don't think the show takes "advantage" of poor, badly educated people who usually have an addiciton or mental health problems of some sort...the show is open to absolutley every class & group of people, who are not paid to appear on the show, however the ttpe of people you describe seem to favour airing their washing in public. The show is popular with all walk of life and im not sure about you but i have this built in device on my television which will actually allow me to do 2 things, switch channels, or turn it off completely!!
As for the Cheeky Bingo ads...i can't stand them....but i can't stand 100s of others too!
