I bought 24 Petunias a few weeks ago and when they arrived I was amazed to see just how mini they were. However, I managed to pot each tiny baby into a 6cms pot and now each one has trebled in size. Are they now big enough to be transplanted into my tubs or should I repot them further? Thank you for any help.
I would leave them in their little pots over the next few days or so in view of the cold weather forecast. Unless the roots are popping out of the pots you planted them into originally just leave them in their pots, and start to harden them off before you plant up your containers. If you were to transplant them out now you'd have to make sure they protected from any further late frosts.
Thank you both so much for your answers. As I live in southern England I've had them outside for the past week, but will bring them inside tonight and for the next few nights as there may be a frost.
Normally we woulod be putting them out in the tubs by now but I for one am at least 3 weeks behind with everythin because of this cold weather. Ideally, put them out in the day and back in during the night for the next week or so at least.
If you do have to leave them out, throw something light over them on a cold evening. Polythene, a sheet, or any you have but remove it in the morning.
