not heard a thing since he resigned.
The trial is listed for early October
talk about dragging their feet, why has it taken so long, Joe Bloggs would have been up in court by now, most likely points and loss of licence if found guilty.
Could be a number of reasons. One strange one could be that has retained some QC who has a full diary already and is not free until October; listing officers do take account of counsel's availability.
"most likely points and loss of licence if found guilty."
He's charged with perverting the course of justice.
You don't get points or a ban for that - it's a pretty major criminal offence, the recommended MINIMUM sentence is four months in prison.
well why is it taking so long.

I've got a feeling he'll get away with it.
so do i.
He will get away with it if he uses Abu Qatada's lawyers.
His best defence is for him and his then wife to say that neither could remember who was driving but one of them certainly was. They guessed and the form was filled in as her driving. This line is weakened by any adamant statements from him that she certainly was, and by her saying that defence is rubbish and nothing of the kind happened. Those are both possibilities. That's the trouble with good defences; suspects who aren't defence lawyers or professional criminals (all right; spot the difference) never come up with them instantly at the time !
